 – Karen M., Mold Mitigation & Repairs

Most Americans spend 90% of their time indoors, which means we all ought to take a closer look at our indoor air quality. Truthfully, mold is everywhere. But elevated levels can be problematic. Five Star Restoration can help you identify the reason for the mold growth and safely remove it.

Five Star Restoration’s source removal techniques for mold remediation follow industry best practices. Simply killing the mold is not the answer. We use techniques to physically remove the mold and keep it from spreading elsewhere in the home.

Steps to Total Mold Damage Repair

Mold Damage Inspection

Five Star Restoration will check out your crawlspace, attic, bathroom and any other areas with visible mold to determine the source and scope of the problem.

Mold Containment

We’ll then create a containment around the mold before we begin work so that we don’t spread spores throughout the house. We use full PPE gear when working with mold to protect our employees and prevent them from tracking spores through the house when they leave.

Mold Damage Removal

Five Star Restoration uses a number of removal techniques including specialty mold cleaners, HEPA vacuuming, wire brushing, and media blasting. A comprehensive approach is far superior than simply spraying the mold. Even when mold and fungal spores are killed, without physical removal, these methods do not eliminate the allergenic or toxigenic properties. We’ll also clean and sanitize the entire affected area or room.

Mold Remediation & Prevention

Clean and dry areas are not susceptible to mold growth. After the remediation process, we will consult with you on how to reduce or prevent conditions for future mold growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to test for mold?
A: Often, testing is not required. Rather a thorough visual and moisture inspection is sufficient. If testing is necessary, we recommend calling our office for a referral company who can perform the sampling.

Q: What causes mold?
A: Mold is caused by excess moisture and it feeds off of organic material such as wood, drywall, or dust. It also requires the right level of air humidity.

Q: Can mold spread throughout my house?
A: Yes and no. It all depends on whether the mold spores have been disturbed. Without the proper containment and protective equipment, you may spread it to other areas of your house. Professionals can isolate and remediate the mold.

Q: I think I’m having mold related health problems, what should I do?
A: Consult your physician. Unfortunately, we cannot say whether mold is or isn’t affecting you. Everyone is different and every mold situation is different.

Q: Can I use bleach to kill mold?
A: Bleach is corrosive and may be harmful. Mold comes from excess moisture and organic materials so using a liquid bleach may provide temporary remediation, but if not properly dried, can cause more mold in the future. Bleach is most often not a permanent solution to the mold problem. The best prevention is to keep it clean and dry.

More About Noblesville IN

Noblesville’s history dates back to 1818 when the land which is now Hamilton County was purchased by the government from the Native Americans in this area.
